The IEA Photovoltaic Power System Programme (IEA PVPS) is one of the collaborative research and development agreements within the IEA and was established in 1993. The mission of the programme is to " enhance the international collaborative effort which facilitate the role of photovoltaic solar energy as a cornerstone in the transition to sustainable energy systems " NEDO participated this programme as signer of Japan since 1993. The outline of a PVPS program and preliminary information about how the PV market developed in 2013 is presented in this time.

This presentation will provide an overview of the global PV market covering the key regions in Europe, Asia and North America. I will examine both the latest policy changes such as introduction of taxation on small-scale PV in Germany, as well as the economics of the supply-chain such as price trends for modules. I will conclude by presenting our outlook for demand across different regions.

"Promoting the overseas business having the purpose of preserving the global environment, such as preventing global warming" is one of the missions of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation(JBIC). JBIC has various kinds of financial schemes to Japanese companies which involve renewable energy projects overseas including photovoltaic energy. In this seminar, based on the needs from Japanese companies in the photovoltaic energy market, we would like to share information about our financial menu and tools with introducing our recent transaction and efforts.

Solar Power Generation Project under the scheme of JCM (Joint Crediting Mechanism)

One of the important schemes to achieve the target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions until 2020 has been promoted by the Japanese Government, as the JCM (Joint Crediting Mechanism). Solar power generation project is also expected to contribute to reduce CO2 emissions under the scheme. In this presentation, we would like to show some important points to be considered for developing JCM projects, and to provide the opportunity for the discussion on how to develop the projects using Japanese technologies.
